Travelling between Toulouse Blagnac airport and Nalanda Monastery

The easiest and fastest way to come to Nalanda is to take a taxi: it will bring you directly to the monastery in about 50 minutes (depending on traffic conditions). But it is also the most expensive solution: it would cost you around100 Euros, plus 30 Euros after 19h00.

The alternative is to take the train or bus, in three stages:

1) From the airport to Matabiau train station (in the centre of Toulouse):

You can either take the "Airport Shuttle" that goes directly to the train station (leaving close to exit C of the main building), which departs every 20 minutes. The journey time is between 20 to 45 minutes (depending on traffic conditions), and a single ticket costs 8 Euros; or then

You can also take the tram "T2", with a terminus at the airport, which departs every 15 minutes. You then have to get off at "Arena", and change to underground line towards "Balma", getting off at Gare Matabiau. The journey time is about 30 minutes, and a single ticket costs 1.60 Euros

2) From Matabiau SNCF station to Lavaur station:

For information on train times, you van visit the site of the SNCF France (you can either use Google, or then try one of these: www.voyages-sncf-com, or www.voyages-sncf-com *** The journey is direct and will take 40 minutes.

Near the railway station you will also find Matabiau central bus station, where you can take a bus to Lavaur, which takes at least 55 minutes (also depending on traffic conditions). In both cases, the price is 9.50 Euros.

3) From the Lavaur Railway Station to Nalanda Monastery.

The monastery is located 5 km from the station. If you inform us in advance (tel. 58 02 05 63 25) we can pick you up by car for a donation of € 2.50. If you plan to walk, prepare yourself with a look on Google maps so you have an idea where Nalanda is situated.

Have a safe journey, and hope to meet you soon!
