Losar holds a special place in our hearts as we remember the anniversary of the parinirvana of the founder of FPMT and Nalanda Monastery, Lama Yeshe. In honor of this occasion, Lama Zopa Rinpoche has encouraged centers to offer students the opportunity to engage in an extensive Lama Chopa with tsog. We will be holding the puja at 7 PM and it will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel for those who wish to join us virtually.
For those who are able to be with us in person, we will also be hosting a ceremony that includes taking the Mahayana Precepts, recitation of important sutras, hanging prayer flags, and watching teachings from Lama Yeshe.
It’s worth mentioning that Losar and the subsequent fifteen days are considered particularly auspicious as they are believed to be merit-multiplying days. According to the Vinaya text “Treasure of Quotations and Logic”, the merit of virtuous actions performed during this time can be multiplied by 100 million.
