Are you ready for Chökor Düchen?

We are fast approaching the auspicious merit-multiplying day of It occurs on the fourth day of the sixth Tibetan lunar month.

For seven weeks after his enlightenment, Buddha did not teach. Finally, encouraged by Indra and Brahma, he turned the Wheel of Dharma for the first time, at Sarnath, by teaching the ‘Four Noble Truths’

Join us at Nalanda

At Nalanda, we also aim to have a meaningful Chökhor Düchen day by following the advice of Rinpoche.

After taking the 8 Mahayana Precepts, our community will follow online His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teaching on Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo’s “37 Practices of a Bodhisattva”

Then a Sutra recitation of Remembering the Three Jewels and Vajra cutter sutras will be done by the monks and community.

In the evening we will do a Shakyamuni Budha puja which you are invited to attend in person or online. Link to follow soon.

05:45 — 06:15 Taking 8 Mahayana Precepts
10:00 — 11:30 His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teaching on Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo’s “37 Practices of a Bodhisattva”
12:30 – 13:30 Lunch
15:00 — 16:00 Recitation of Sutras (in person & live)
19:00 — 21:30 Shakyamuni Buddha Puja (in person and live-streamed here) Text can be found here.

Please note, the final day for donation would be Thursday(20 July), to process the dedications, go shopping, nicely arrange the altar prior to the Puja and so forth.
