For women wanting to do retreat at Nalanda
We thank you for your interest in Nalanda. We are a male monastery and we organize collective retreats in January, July and August and in these retreats we accept both men and women. The remaining part of the year, we host women who study at ours full time study programs: Basic Program and Master Program. We also host female volunteers that provide service for the monastery. Unfortunately, we cannot host women for solitary retreats, as at night in the monastery there are only men. If you are interested to an individual retreat, you can address our sisters Dharma centre nearby, the Vajra Yogini Institute or Dorje Pamo Nunnery.
Nalanda being a Monastery has accommodation on the premises only for men. Accommodation is limited and as a result, new residents (under the age of 35) are asked to share a room.
Female students usually rent accommodation in the town of Lavaur (4.5km away) or near the monastery. If you need help with finding accommodation, feel free to contact us.
