Accommodation and Fees

Options for sangha, students and visitors.

We are in the process of updating our donations and prices. Nalanda has been suffering, like all other organisations, with the
increase of prices and the high inflation. Nalanda hasn’t raised its prices in the last years, but right now we are obliged to slightly
adjust them. These prices have no intention to be a source of profit for the monastery but to simply cover the basic costs like electricity, taxes, insurance, food, heating, gas, etc.

We hope to be able to update them soon meanwhile please take the following ones as an example from the past year:

What’s included: The fees cover the rent of the room, three meals a day, tea/coffee, and access to the teachings. Fees do not cover printing study materials, internet access, self-study materials, laundry, local travel costs and any telephone costs.

Visas, permits, insurance: It is the responsibility of all the students to make appropriate arrangements to fulfil any requirements regarding their visas, residency permits or health insurance during their stay at Nalanda. Nalanda will be able to help with advice and invitation letters once you have been accepted as a student.

Payment due: Please pay (as visitor) by cash or card at the arrival of your visit or (as resident) in the first week of each month.

Booking your stay at Nalanda

In order to make your stay with us as beneficial as possible for yourself and the community, please make an advanced booking by filling in the form below. Please make a reservation well in advance, as places are limited and we also need time to organize your arrival.
 
Booking requirements
  • Minimum stay is one week
  • In order to reserve a room or retreat hut, we ask for a deposit of 100 euros
  • Make sure that you fill out the questionnaire in all the details
  • Please don’t make any travel arrangements to come to Nalanda monastery until you have received your invitation as a temporary resident or guest 
Canceling your reservation: you may cancel your reservation free of charge until 2 weeks (14 days) before your arrival date. After this deadline the deposit is retained.
