What’s included: The fees cover the rent of the room, three meals a day, laundry and tea/coffee.
Visas, permits, insurance: It is your responsibility to make appropriate arrangements to fulfil any requirements regarding visas, residency permits or health insurance during your stay at Nalanda. Nalanda will be able to help with advice and invitation letters once you have been accepted.
Payment due: if you are a visitor, please pay by cash or credit card on arrival at the accounting office. If you are resident we kindly ask you to pay before the 5th of the month.
Financial difficulties: In case of financial difficulties, please contact the director.
Individual retreats for women
Nalanda Monastery is a male monastery and as such women cannot sleep on the premises.
On the other hand, our retreat center – Maitreya Pure Land, 300 metres away from the Monastery, offers the same quality of stay and even cosier rooms.
Booking your stay at Nalanda
- Make sure that you fill out the questionnaire in all the details
- Please don’t make any travel arrangements to come to Nalanda monastery until you have received your invitation as a temporary resident or guest
