Make a bequest to Nalanda Monastery
"What dies and what lives?”
The Sanghata Sutra
If you wish to...
– accumulate merit after leaving this body and create favorable causes for your continuity,
– prolong the altruistic impulse and commitments you have followed during your life,
– continue your ultimate help to all beings by supporting Nalanda Monastery and the transmission of the Dharma for generations to come,
you can choose to bequeath all or part of your property to our congregation.
The congregation of Nalanda Monastery can receive any bequest and is exempt from any transfer tax. Your generosity can be certified by a will that will take effect upon your death. You can, of course, revoke, modify, or supplement your last wishes at any time.
You can bequeath the “disposable portion” of your estate, real estate, or personal property, but you must respect the share of your direct heirs (spouse, ascendants, children, grandchildren). The law requires you to bequeath a specific portion of your assets to them. It is impossible to disinherit them.
There are three types of bequests:
Universal bequest: to pass on all of your movable and/or immovable property.
Universal bequest: to pass on a percentage or category of your assets.
Specific bequest: to pass on one or more specific assets.
You can write your personal provisions by hand on a simple sheet of paper, dated and signed, indicating your full civil status: first name, last name, date and place of birth, and address. However, it is strongly recommended that you have your authentic will registered with a notary.
For more information, please contact us or the director.
For further legal information, please contact your notary or Maître Patricia Saux, the notary for our congregation (11 avenue Georges Spénale, 81500 Lavaur, 05 63 83 15 00, patricia.saux@notaires.fr).
