Dr. Lobsang Shrestha
Dr. Lobsang Shrestha is a well-known Tibetan physician with 35 years of teaching experience in the Western world. He has vast experience and knowledge about Western cultures, lifestyles, and mentalities. Over the years, he has traveled widely throughout Europe, South America, and the United States, generously sharing his wisdom and experience.
He gave many teachings at Nalanda since many years. In 2026, Dr Lobsang is proposing a new curriculum of 6 topics spread over 4 week-ends investigating the natrure of mind and body as well as their relationship and functions.
At your convenience, you can follow the teachings either in the main Gompa of Nalanda Monastery or online (directly or via a video recording). The participation for each week-end is 125€ (total 500€).
You can also join us for lunch, for both days if you so wish, in which case, we kindly ask you to participate – 14€ per meal per person.
A new program
Dr. Lobsang will offer four week-ends of profound and highly beneficial teachings based on the unique, centuries-old ancient medical tradition of Sowa Rigpa, Traditional Tibetan Medicine (the Science of Healing) in order to help participants to recognise the failure reasons and investigate the fundamental causes of mental and emotional imbalances.
Such imbalances rises widespread psychological and physical suffering, including anxiety, nervousness, lack of inner peace, worry, fear, panic, impatience, aggression, sadness, depression, memory loss, and Alzheimer’s disease, suicidal etc. as well as physical problems such as hypertension, tachycardia, heart attacks, strokes, and insomnia.
The teachings will confer precise healing solutions and practical techniques to cope with and overcome these challenges, enabling participants to achieve more stable happiness, peace and health. It will include mental awareness training to recognize personal responsibility, natural herbal treatments, specific external therapies, tantric healing methods, unique three purification exercises, dietary and behavioral guidance and other practical applications.
